RAF Hemswell Association Annual Reunion Accommodation for the nights of Tuesday and Wednesday will be at the Branston Hall Hotel. Booking forms are being sent to all members inside the summer edition of “The Ermine Link” due early June. If further forms are required, reunion organiser Eric Jarvis, 156 Worksop Road, Swallownest, Sheffield S26 4WE, will send one to you on receipt of a stamped self-addressed envelope. Full details will be sent nearer the time to all members attending, but general format will follow the now well established pattern of:- Tuesday Arrive at hotel in the afternoon and meet everyone at the ‘Meet & Greet’ leaving time to explore the hotel facilities and extensive grounds and then dinner together at the hotel. The hotel has plenty of car park space and cars can be left there for the duration. Wednesday - RAF Hemswell Day We will proceed by coach to Hemswell for the Annual Service at 11 am on the Memorial Parade Ground. Subject to favourable weather conditions the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster is scheduled to “Flypast” at the end of the service. Snack lunches are available at a number of places on the site, after which there will be the annual visit to Hemswell Cliff School for their RAF Hemswell Day Concert and Book Awards Ceremony; then back to the hotel to get ready for the Annual Dinner. To read a detailed account of the activities on a previous RAF Hemswell Day, Click Here Thursday Breakfast followed by the Annual General Meeting of the RAF Hemswell Association at 10am in the hotel, all members and their partners are invited to attend including members not accommodated at the hotel. NOTE: Although the full annual reunion & annual dinner are strictly for members and their guests only, the annual service on RAF Hemswell Day is open to the general public at no charge and with no limitation on numbers attending; the old parade ground is big enough for everyone!
